Welcome to Grains of Sense®, the only on-line source for both fresh, hand-roasted certified Fair Trade Organic coffees, and, wholesome, fresh-baked breads and bakery items.
Our coffees are individually roasted on-site, by hand, fresh to order. 100% of our coffee offerings are certified organic and support global fair trade initiatives.
We use organic grains, non-refined sweeteners and safflower oil in our fresh-baked goods. In response to customer feedback, we also offer a selection of fresh-baked gluten-free items. In addition to our coffees being certified Fair Trade and USDA Certified Organic, our coffees and yeast breads have received certification from the Virginia Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services for the Virginia's Finest Program developed and introduced in 1989 to identify, differentiate and promote top quality Virginia-produced and processed agricultural products.
At Grains of Sense, there are three criteria that must be met or exceeded before we will consider offering a product to you. Every product we sell must be:
- Pleasing to the eye.
- Enjoyable in taste and smell.
- Understood to be healthful and nourishing.
If even one of these criteria is not met, we will not make it or offer it to you. To put it a different way, if it doesn't meet your high standards it won't meet ours.
In a world where refined sugars, trans fats and other harmful additives and products seem to be almost everywhere, it is nice to know that there is a place to find only good things -- wholesome, whole grain fresh-baked goods and snacks, and freshly roasted, organic, fair trade coffees.
